A royal source is explaining why the royal family did not publicly acknowledge Princess Lilibet's birthday, which landed on Sunday (June 4).
The Princess turned two years old. Fans are fueling a lot of theories about the optics of the royal family not publicly wishing the young Princess a happy birthday. The royal family social media channels often do wish members a happy birthday. In fact, they publicly wished Lilibet a happy birthday last year.

A royal source is telling ET, "It has never been protocol to share formal birthday wishes for non-working members of the royal family or their children on the official channels. Any such birthday wishes would be shared privately."
Of course, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are seemingly not on good terms with many members of his family after what he wrote in his memoir.
